Wedding Photographer Kent - Feedback

I've just received some feedback from Felicity and Dan, whose wedding I photographed in December at Newstead Priory in Brigg, Lincolnshire - check out their wedding gallery.

I've known David for many years, so when Felicity and I decided to get married I knew instantly who I wanted to do our wedding photos. David's professionalism and attention to detail are matched only by his charm and passion for photography. He's a very intelligent guy, who applies himself wholeheartedly to his trade, reading and researching about all the latest kit and techniques to ensure he delivers perfect results. On our wedding day he had already researched the weather conditions, time of sunset (which made for some excellent shots) and briefed the ushers on their duties and how best to organise the shots. Nothing was left to chance. He managed the crowd brilliantly, with charisma and enthusiasm, making everyone feel relaxed in front of the camera, which really helped later on, when David spent a lot of time and effort mingling and snapping away to provide some great 'off-the-cuff' shots.

David sent us over six hundred photos from our wedding day. He'd also done some great black and white treatments, and included these as separate shots as well, all on a CD and DVD. Also, and very important to us, was the fact that all of David's photos have free copyright, meaning we can send these photos to all our family and friends and print them as many times as we like. We can recommend David not just for his skill as a photographer, but for the great service he provides.

Capturing a once in a lifetime event is a huge responsibility and we would recommend David as someone to trust with this task without reservation.

I've just received some lovely feedback from Nicky and Michael whose wedding I photographed just before Christmas at the Ashford International Hotel - check out their wedding gallery.

Wow... the photos are amazing!!

Thank you so much for all you have done. From the beginning of the process you have been so willing to advise us and help us choose the right photographer for our special day. You were a pleasure to have at the wedding, and so professional, yet unintrusive - we didn't even realise you had taken half of the photos! We would recommend you to anyone.

You have provided us with a wonderful reminder of our day. Thank you once again.

Wedding Photography Kent

I've just had some lovely feedback regarding the album I produced for Tanya & Duncan after their wedding at Lympne Castle in August.

Tanya & Duncan have just arrived to spend New Year with us. The first thing they did was to give us a copy of the wedding album you did for them. It's absolutely wonderful and brings back lots of memories of such a happy day. I remember you cracking up at the best man's speech about Duncan - you were laughing so much I'm amazed you managed to take so many wonderful photos. The album will be touted round to show everyone what a wonderful wedding it was.

Wishing you all the best for the New Year and thanks again, the album will be a treasured possession for our family

I just wanted to thank all my blog readers who have taken the trouble to e-mail me with feedback. It really is appreciated. Here's an edited selection from the last week with links to websites:

Hi David,

I have been on your website and love the sort of photos you take. I also enjoy reading your blog - you have a lot of interesting stuff on there.

Regards

Helen Batt (www.helenbattphotography.com)

Hello David,

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that I think your photos are superb. Really enjoy reading the blog - it's giving me lots of ideas - thanks! I am a budding photographer in the North, and am still mesmerised by how you manage to get such lovely, clean shots. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the EOS 5D MKII, as I may need to take the leap!
Thanks again David.

Wedding Photographer in Kent - Feedback

I've just received some feedback from Tracy and Paul, whose wedding I shot recently at Broadstairs and Sandwich. They're currently on honeymoon.

Hi David,

Greetings from Japan. I wanted to send you a quick email to let you know that Paul and I took a look at the pictures online and think they are fantastic. Thank you for making our day so special and for capturing so much of it on film. We really enjoyed the photo shoot on the jetty in Broadstairs and you can tell from the photos.

Looking forward to chatting to you when we get back from our travels and to seeing the full photo collection. I know that Mum and Dad have really been enjoying looking through them all.

Thank you again. All the best.

Tracy and Paul

I also received feeback from one of their bridesmaids!

Hello David

I was looking at the pictures from Tracy & Paul's wedding and am really impressed with your images, they're amazing! You're right, it was really cold. I think we bridesmaids got a short straw without having a fluffy cape to wear like Tracy did!!!

Anyway, I wondered if it was possible to buy a selection of images from you directly? Is that possible or should I do that all through Tracy when she and Paul are back from their honeymoon.

Thanks

Lucy Andrew

Since I give my clients copyright of their pictures and all the high resolution images on DVD they can provide their family and friends with all the images they want for no extra cost - as I pointed out to Lucy.

Wedding Photographer in Kent - Feedback

I've just received some lovely feedback from Kate and John whose wedding I recently photographed in Canterbury - check out their wedding gallery.

David was a pleasure to have around on our wedding day. His passion and competence as a photographer ensured that, despite the awful November weather, the photographs we are left with are beautiful and extremely reminiscent of the day.

David was flexible, inspirational and VERY accessible during the build-up to (and the days after) the wedding. Emails were answered within hours and the photographs were uploaded to David's website the day after the wedding. Our DVD and CD were waiting for us when we returned from honeymoon.

David offers excellent value for money and we would not hesitate in recommending him.

Wedding Photographer Kent - Testimonial

I received some lovely feedback yesterday from Kim and Chris, whose wedding I photographed in Borden Village and Sittingbourne on Saturday in monsoon conditions - check out their wedding gallery.

For David, nothing was too much trouble! He was there to meet us at the Church and, from then on in, was just like one of the guests. His professionalism and ability to make everybody feel at ease was amazing. From start to finish he captured every special moment. David did not let the rain spoil our day or our photos. In fact he improvised with props and the venues to produce some of the best wedding pictures we've ever seen.

We couldn't recommend David highly enough and we have had many people comment already on how fabulous his work is - and at such a reasonable price too. We couldn't wait for the discs to be delivered (it took only three days) and they certainly didn't disappoint!

David - thank you for for giving us such wonderful memories to look back on for years to come. We would love to work with you again in the future.

Kent Wedding Photography Feedback

I received some lovely feedback from Victoria and Mark yesterday, whose wedding I recently photographed at All Saints Church in Whitstable and Mount Ephraim Gardens near Canterbury - see their wedding gallery.

David was absolutely fantastic. His easy-going, personable manner, coupled with his obvious passion and experience in photography, put us at ease and ensured a fabulous set of photos that we were delighted with. The sheer volume of pictures that he took in a short amount of time gave us a wonderful minute-by-minute account of our wedding that we will enjoy for years to come.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other couples looking for a combination of formal and informal shots that perfectly capture the spirit of your special day.

Wedding Photographer in Kent

When I photographed Clare and Alistair's wedding in Tunbridge Wells recently one of their friends, an aspiring wedding photographer, asked if she could tail me to watch me in action - no problem! I just had an e-mail from her:

Hi David,

We met at Clare and Alistair's wedding on the 6th September. I haven't had a chance to get around to sending you an e-mail to say thank you very much for letting me shadow you on the day and for giving me some advice. I just had a look on your website and found it really inspiring.

I am due to start a photographic course next week which I am really looking forward to. I was wondering what would you say is best way of advertising - word of mouth? And also how did you get your website? Did you get it done professionally or did you do it yourself.

Anyway thanks so much for your help.

Kind regards,

Julie Armitage

Some great questions from Julie - this was my reply:

Hi Julie,

Thanks for your positive feedback.

I would encourage you to be as self-sufficient with all aspects of your business as possible - it gives you much more control and allows you to troubleshoot more easily. Also, nobody cares about your business as much as you do.

I bought myself a book on HTML and wrote most of my website using a Word processor. I do all my own SEO (search engine optimisation) which is key to success. My website now gets 1500 visitors a month thanks to my efforts earlier this year.

I would encourage you to shoot weddings for free initially. Build up your experience and portfolio. Let the quality of your work attract clients. This will then lead to recommendations by word-of-mouth.

Buy the best quality kit you can afford. This includes computer, monitor and software. Read and learn as much as you can.

Good luck!

Yours,

David

Starting up your own business can be intimidating but you don't have to get everything right first time. The key is to be patient, determined and self-critical!

Feedback from wedding at Tunbridge Wells

I've just received feedback from Clare and Alistair, whose wedding I photographed last weekend at St Paul's Church and The Spa Hotel, Tunbridge Wells - see their wedding gallery.

We received both DVDs this afternoon and they are more than we had hoped for. We are both over the moon with your work and everyone we have shown has been really impressed. The photographs are excellent and we are so happy with the record of our special day. Having the photos online was fantastic as family in South Africa could see the photos the very next day so that was really special! Hope your website did not crash!

All of the photos are superb and we especially like the group portraits at the reception. You truly deserve every single bit of praise for your work.

So from the two of us a massive thank you.

Kind regards,

Clare and Alistair Snook

I've just received feedback from Katie and Simon, whose wedding I photographed at St Augustine's in Westgate last week - see their wedding gallery.

Using David to capture the special moments of our wedding day was one of the best choices we made when planning our wedding.

David's knowledge of photography, coupled with his enthusiasm, humour and seamless interaction with the guests, contributed to the day running so smoothly, from start to finish.

As a result of David's hard work, we now have a complete photographic record of our wedding day, which fully encapsulates the memories and emotions that we can now keep with us for the rest of our lives.

The package that David offers is fantastic value for money and we will definitely be recommending his services to others!

Thank you.

We are delighted with the photos from our wedding David. On the day, you were organised and professional. This really helped everything run smoothly and made sure we got all the shots that we wanted and much more. We were amazed at how quickly you were able to get the photos onto the website so that we were able to look at them at the hotel on the way to the honeymoon.

The photos we got are incredibly high quality and we are so pleased that we have such a great set to look back on for years to come.

Needless to say, we would highly recommend you to anyone.

Feedback from portrait session

Just received some lovely feedback from Christine and her parents who I photographed recently in the Westgate Gardens, Canterbury - see their portrait gallery.

Dear David,

Just wanted to write and thank you for the wonderful photos that you took of my parents. As you know, it was to commemorate their 43rd wedding anniversary and I have so many excellent photos to choose from!

As we had never been on a professional photoshoot before we did not know what exactly to expect but your enthusiasm and professionalism put us at ease right away. Your idea to use the Westgate Gardens as the background was a fantastic one as it provided a beautiful, semi-formal but relaxed setting.

My parents really enjoyed the photo shoot and thought the world of you. They send their thanks and appreciation as well.

We can't recommend you enough! We wish you much success in the future.

Wedding feedback

Calling this feedback positive seems like a bit of an understatement - check out their wedding gallery to see whether I merit it!

David was professional from first contact to delivering the final product. We were very impressed with his website and found the galleries and testimonials particularly informative.

I have worked with a lot of photographers during my career and would rate him as one of the best. He has real talent and you feel the passion he has for his work. He made us feel totally at easy in front of the camera and interacted effortlessly with our guests. He was professional, friendly and relaxed which helped us enjoy our day even more. It was a real pleasure having David with us and we will strongly recommend him to all our family and friends.

We were so pleased with the finished images - just fantastic. He captured every detail and every special moment. I would not hesitate to use him again and already have some projects I want him to be involved with in the near future.

The day after the wedding it was great to view the images on his website and, again, thank you David for acting so quickly. We've since had lots of positive feedback from our guests about both David and his images.

Not only did David deliver a first-rate service but after the day we would like to call him a friend. We wish him every success in the future.

Thanks again.

Thank you Elizabeth and Richard - this makes it all worthwhile. Wedding photography can be a very rewarding career on many levels.

Feedback from family photoshoot

I received some lovely feedback today from Jennie regarding the photoshoot we did at Kearnsey Abbey, near Dover, last month.

I wanted to arrange a complete family get together for my partner's surprise birthday present, and after some 'ums' and 'ahs' from various camera-shy family members, I managed to rally everyone around for a photo shoot.

Although several of us were quite nervous, David put us totally at ease, and the results were absolutely tremendous. We agreed on a mixture of sensible portrait shots in combination with more natural, laid back pictures. It was great fun to do, and everyone enjoyed the shoot immensely.

We got the disc a few days later as promised, and were astounded at the amount of shots taken in such a short space of time. The photos are all crisp and clear, and we were all pleasantly surprised with how good we all looked!!

All in all, we've now got a fantastic reminder of a great day, and David has provided us with a wonderful collection, hopefully to be enjoyed and treasured by the whole family for years to come.

Thank you David.

Thank you so much for being our wedding photographer David. From start to finish you have been so helpful and professional. You've always been on the other end of the e-mail whenever I've had a question which had been really appreciated.

Our wedding day was amazing and we're so glad that you were there to capture it for us. You were so calming on the day and helped us to feel relaxed in front of the camera.

The photos are of great quality and were delivered to us so quickly. I am so glad that we have them as a memento of our day.

More feedback

I've just received feedback from Tarnya and Matthew for their wedding in Ashford the previous week.

David takes value for money to the extreme. The quality of his work is in a class of its own and he is a joy to work with on your special day - we couldn't have wished for a more friendly person. Not only does he make sure the work is of a high standard but we could clearly see how much he enjoyed himself doing it!

David took over 600 pictures and we couldn't pick the best ones - they were all so good we spent our gift money getting them all developed! We are going to get a few poster pics done as they will make lovely centre pieces in our home. And all the black and white pictures were a real bonus which we hadn't expected.

I would recommend this guy to anyone who wants superb shots of their special day without any reservations at all. We will definitely be using David again in the future for portrait pictures. I was filled with confidence over the phone before I booked him but when he showed me his work I knew we'd picked the best photographer in the south of england.

Thanks again David.

Feedback from Saturday's Wedding

I received some lovely feedback from Sharon and David today:

Sharon and I took a lot of time shopping around for the right photographer at the right price. We wanted to make sure we had great photos for our wedding day, but without paying a high price. We couldn't believe how great David was on our wedding day - right from the very first call through to the shots being taken at the reception. He's a true professional who really has a passion for his work. He has the patience of a saint when it comes to organising even the most tricky of wedding parties, and with a sense of humour thrown in.

The concept of David taking around 600 photos really appealed to us because even though you may only put 50 pictures in an album you still get to keep the rest of your memories on DVD, to upload to a PC, e-mail to others, or replicate as you wish.

David managed to blend into the background and capture shots of us enjoying the best day of our lives and we feel David really contributed to making our day as special as possible.

Thanks again David, and best of luck for the future.

Feedback from Saturday's Wedding

Linda and Michael just popped round to collect their 3 wedding DVDs (638 high res JPEGs, B&W treatments and presentation disc) - tired but very happy. Getting married is hard work, as the shot above demonstrates! Whilst here they left me with their feedback:

The photos are absolutely stunning and a really great mix too. We loved wandering off for the bride & groom photoshoot - it was the only time we had to ourselves all day! A lot of our guests were very impressed with your approach and attitude and have asked for your details - they compared you very favourably with other wedding photographers they've seen in action recently. You inspired trust and confidence in us - you delivered exactly what you described at our pre-wedding meeting. Many thanks once again.

Feedback from last week's wedding

Just a quick post today as I'm getting ready to go and photograph Linda and Michael's wedding at the Three Tuns in Staple, Kent. I received some lovely feedback from Rachel and Colin, whose wedding I photographed at Upnor Castle and the Corn Exchange last week, so I thought I'd share it with you.

David, the photos are amazing. We couldn't be more thrilled. David captured the perfect mix of contemporary and formal pictures. Our family and friends have all admired the results and agreed how beautifully the day will be remembered through them. Anyone can take wedding photos but David's have so much more of a story to tell. He was a pleasure to work with and we would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking a wedding photographer. Thanks again.

Feedback from a fellow ePhotozine member

Starting a blog requires a certain leap-of-faith. It's a lot of effort to do a good job and yet you don't know if anybody will be interested in what you have to write.

That's why receiving feedback is so rewarding, particularly when it's as charming as that from Kerry (who's just about to shoot her first wedding):

Having never photographed a wedding before I didn't know what kit I should take (once there I'll be able to judge - when it's too late to dash out to Jessops). Thanks to your blog I've purchased a light modifier for my flash and the battery grip for my camera (350D). Moreover, I've thought in depth about situations I'll have no control over (bright windows in background etc). Without your blog I wouldn't have planned for these so, in advance, thanks!

Well done on sharing all your skills and findings with the world. Your text was clear, concise and downright useful!

With kind regards,

Kerry Bearman

Thank you so much Kerry - I shall continue blogging with renewed vigour!

Feedback from portrait session

I photographed Sia and her parents recently - an absolutely charming family. Just received feedback from them:

We have had 2 photo sessions at our house with David and the experience was really amazing. He immediately put us at ease and we had lots of fun with our little daughter, Sia, for the photos. David had got his portable studio equipment for the shoots and the whole process was extremely professional. It was really good value for money as we got to keep the photos on a CD, he even did smaller versions of the pictures for emailing! I would 100% recommend David for any photography and will use his services again in the future.
