Bradbourne House Wedding Venue
The Bradbourne House wedding venue situated in the village of East Malling, near Maidstone Kent, is an exceptional venue. The main house is a grade 1 listed building with high ceilings and huge windows: so there's lots of beautiful light to be found inside - absolutely perfect for wedding photography. There's a stunning staircase, a beautiful oak-lined reception room and a spacious dining area for the wedding breakfast. In front of the house are wide steps which are perfect for group shots. The house is set in 20 acres of picturesque parkland and features a lake, stream and waterfall - offering lots of opportunities for capturing stunning images. The staff are also exceptionally friendly and welcoming. This combination of features makes the Bradboure House wedding venue popular with both couples and their wedding photographers!
I was with Annabel and Danny for 6 hours. I started by taking some shots of Bradbourne House and the grounds and then moved on to details (dress, shoes, flowers and cake etc). I then photographed Annabel in the final stages of her preparations and got her to pose on the magnificent staircase once she was ready. I then joined Danny and his bestman for some portraits (and also witnessed their marryoke performances!) and followed this with some candid shots of the guests. After this came the ceremony and signing of the register. Since the weather was rather unsettled (there'd been heavy rain in the morning) we dashed outside to get the group shots done whilst it remained dry - and also a confetti shot. We then went for a wander around the lovely grounds for the bride and groom portrait session and incorporated the lake, bridge and waterfall into the photoshoot (though I had to clamber through brambles to get the shot I wanted with the latter). I then photographed the room in which the wedding breakfast was to be served, followed by more candids of the guests. I finished off with speeches, given before the meal, which allowed me to capture lots of natural shots of the guests. I then departed as food was served.
