Wedding Photography at Howfield Manor

Howfield Manor is a beautiful country house hotel in Chartham Hatch, on the outskirts of Canterbury, and is a superb wedding venue. It features a stunning historic manor house (the original parts of which date back to 1181) and delightful grounds, with landscaped gardens, lavender-lined paths, an eye-catching ivy-covered archway and an impressive fountain situated in front of the hotel on the gravel driveway. All excellent material for your wedding photographer to work with! There's also a terrific custom-built decked area and gazebo for outdoor ceremonies which overlooks some lovely water meadows and a marquee for larger weddings (which is great for doing group shots in if the weather is bad). Weddings at Howfield Manor are run very professionally (by the exceptionally charming Eva) but have a very informal and relaxed feel - it's always a pleasure to work there. Wedding packages at Howfield Manor are very flexible and tailored to the needs of clients.

Tifferny and Ian got married in August 2009 and booked me for 4 hours coverage. After some location shots of the house and grounds I joined Ian and his groomsmen, looking very dapper in their black tie, for some portrait shots followed by candids of the guests. The ceremony was held outside under the gazebo and was particularly memorable since Ian and Tifferny danced up the aisle - and Tifferny had green-and-white striped wellies on under her dress! After the ceremony and dancing procession back to the manor house we got stuck into the group shots straight away and then Tifferny, Ian and myself wandered about the grounds for the bride and groom portrait session. We managed to incorporate a bouncy castle into the proceedings! I then shot a mock cake cut, mock first dance, receiving line and speeches. I departed as the wedding breakfast was served.

Victoria and Mike got married in July 2010 and booked me for 4 hours coverage. They got married at St Michael and All Angels Church in Kingsnorth, near Ashford, and then had their reception at Howfield Manor. On arrival at the manor I finished shooting their bride and groom portrait session, taking advantage of all the lovely features in the grounds described above, and then we joined the rest of the guests for the group shots. This was followed by some relaxed candids of the guests and then I left as the meal was served.
