The Knowle Country House Wedding Venue

The Knowle Country House wedding venue, a Victorian Gothic Mansion near Higham and Rochester in Kent, is a very well-established venue which is family-owned and run with the reputation for offering a very friendly and relaxed service. It was built in the 1850s by the Rector of Higham and is set in 14 acres of beautiful orchards and gardens with a wonderful gravelled drive. Ceremonies can be held indoors in the Garden Room or outside in the Gazebo, set in the Rose Garden. Close-by is a Victorian Summerhouse which opens as a bar during summer months.

Faye and Marcus got married on a mild day in August. It was heavily overcast but the light was beautiful as a result. I initially took plenty of location and detail shots and then joined Faye and her bridesmaids in the annexe for the final stages of her preparations. I then joined Marcus and his entourage for a few photos. The ceremony took place in the conservatory and then a drinks reception was held in the garden. This was followed by a few group shots and then I wandered round the grounds with Faye and Marcus for their portrait session. The wild garden and pond at the back of the venue provided a perfect backdrop for these photos. The wedding breakfast was then served and I got to sample the famous sweet trolley! After the meal came the speeches and then we all wandered outside to be joined by the evening guests. The cake cut and first dance then rounded off the day.
