The Old Kent Barn Wedding Venue
We were delighted to finally work with David Fenwick in 2012 and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

The Old Kent Barn wedding venue is a fantastic venue located in Swingfield, near Folkestone. It won Kent Wedding Venue of the Year in 2012 and 2016. It features two oak-framed barns and a white wooden gazebo, which allows for both indoor and outdoor weddings, set in lovely landscaped gardens with pretty terraces, walkways and a small lake. The venue offers facilities to cover the whole wedding day - from a dressing room for bridal preparations to a bridal suite - and is immaculately maintained with an exceptional eye for detail.
Anneli and Matthew booked me for 4 hours coverage. I started with location and detail shots and then joined Anneli and her bridesmaids in the bridal room. This was followed by a photoshoot with Matthew and his twin brother, who also served as his bestman. I then took lots of candid shots of the guests and captured Anneli's arrival at the main barn in the Old Kent Barn's very own tuk-tuk! I then shoot the ceremony (featuring both laughter and tears) and signing of the register. Drinks were then served on the lawns, followed by the group shots. I then whisked Anneli and Matthew off around the grounds for their portrait session. The sun was very strong and low in the sky but I was able to keep the sun behind them for the majority of the shoot which gave a lovely rimlight effect around them and no unpleasant shadows on their faces. There are lots of secluded areas in the garden which make it very easy to conduct an intimate and relaxed photoshoot. I then photographed a very lively receiving line followed by the speeches which occurred before the wedding breakfast. I was with Sam and Adrian for 8 hours. The initial part of the day followed a similar itinerary to Anneli and Matthew's wedding but speeches were held after the wedding breakfast. This was followed by candids of the guests and a spectacular first dance routine!
