Port Lympne Mansion, situated in 600 acres of the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park is a fabulous wedding venue. It was built in the early 20th century and commands panoramic views over Romney Marsh. It features mural painted rooms, a magnificent staircase and wonderful landscaped gardens. The gardens are packed with features (fountains, pools, tree-lined walkways) that make it a wedding photographer's dream! It's an exceptionally friendly and relaxed venue and Sam and Zoe (the wedding coordinators) are absolutely lovely. There's accomodation for the couple and guests on site and guests can enjoy tours of the park as part of your wedding package.
Jenny and Lee got married at Port Lympne in February 2011 and booked me for 4 hours coverage. I started with lots of location and detail shots and then joined Jenny and her bridesmaids in the final stages of their preparations. I then did a photoshoot with Lee and his best man followed by candids of the guests. After the civil ceremony there was the opportunity for more candids as drinks were served and then I whisked Jenny and Lee off for a bride and groom portrait session in the gardens. We then did a few group shots in front of the mansion, followed by more candids and then a very memorable bouquet toss - let's just say that Jenny wasn't aware of her own strength! I departed as the wedding breakfast was served.
Pollyanna and Michael got married at St Leonard's Church in Hythe and then moved on to Port Lympne for their reception. They booked me for 4 hours coverage. On arrival I did some location shots and then joined the guests for candids whilst drinks were served. I then took the bride and groom off for a photoshoot (the conditions were spectacular) and then we joined the guests for a few group shots in front of the mansion. I then had the opportunity to take some more relaxed candids of the guests before my departure.
