Winters Barns Wedding Venue

Winters Barns is a charming wedding venue set in a lovely secluded spot just on the outskirts of Canterbury. It's a cosy, friendly venue and the staff are exceptionally hospitable. There are two main adjoining barns - one for ceremonies and the other for the wedding breakfast - which are immaculately maintained. They're separated by a bar and reception area which offers sufficient space to take group photos in the event of inclement weather. There's also a smaller barn offering accomodation and rooms for bridal preparations. Winters Barns is set in 7 acres of beautiful gardens with an orchard and just in front of the barns is a lovely courtyard area with a huge pond. The grounds offer lots of opportunities for lovely wedding photos.

Jill and Seb got married at Winters Barns in April 2010 and booked me for 4 hours coverage. After some location and detail shots (flowers, cakes etc) I joined Jill during the final stages of her preparations. This was followed by lots of candid shots of the guests and then a very emotional ceremony (included a performance on guitars by their children). We then went out into the courtyard for drinks and a few group shots and I then whisked Jill and Seb off for a brief portrait session in the orchard. Although the trees were not yet in leaf the daffodils were out and the grounds looked lovely. This was followed by a mock cake cut. I departed as the wedding breakfast was served.

Rebecca and Marc got married at St Peter's Church, Bridge in June 2012 and had their reception at Winters Barns. They booked me for 5 hours coverage. Despite it being mid-summer it was heavily overcast and drizzled all day! I joined Rebecca and her bridesmaids at Winters Barns in the morning to photograph the final stages of her preparations. I then joined Marc at the church. After the ceremony we returned to Winters Barns for the reception. Whilst the guests were arriving Rebecca, Marc and I braved the elements and went outside for a quick bride and groom portrait session. Although it was a little wet, the light was beautifully soft and perfect for photography. We then joined all the guests in the main barn where I managed to take the group photos followed by lots of candids, a mock cake cut and a receiving line. Again, I departed as the wedding breakfast was served.

I'm a recommended photographer at the Winter Barns wedding venue and have photographed over 20 weddings there. Please view the galleries below and then feel free to email me for a quote.
